Experience #SafeTheatre at The Center for Art & Entertainment

As we welcome you back to The Center for Art & Entertainment, here’s what to expect. These protocols were established to help ensure a safe environment—with guidance from federal, state and local officials, as well as our health partner.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19, or simply don’t feel well, please stay home.

Ticketing & Seating

  • You will enter and be immediately seated with your ticketed group.  The line to enter will be socially distanced. There is no waiting in the lobby.  Your ticket reservation will be held at the door and checked off as you enter.  ALL MEMBERS OF YOUR GROUP MUST BE PRESENT TO BE SEATED.

  • Handicapped seating can be arranged for early arrival by emailing info@thecenterae.org

Beverage Service

  • Each seating group will have cups with order blanks and sanitized pencils for your orders. A member of the Beverage Team will take your order, payment method, and return with your drink/s and receipt.

  • Each table will be equipped with a small light. To reorder, guests will switch on the light to call for a staff member or be escorted out of the theater.

  • If you need to leave your seat for any reason, you must be masked and accompanied by a Safety Team member stationed in your area.

Sanitization & Cleaning

We’ll thoroughly clean and sanitize the building before you arrive for a show, event or education program—including using industry-standard electrostatic sprayers.

  • Security & Temperature Checks.

  • While you’re here, we’ll frequently clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces.

  • We invested in a specialized air handling unit upgrade that uses REME HALO UV-sanitized filters to provide greater fresh air exchange. (See video).

  • Touchless hand sanitizer stations and temperature scans will be at the entry of the building. Our colleagues are required to have their temperatures checked at the beginning of each shift, wash their hands frequently and wear face coverings at all times—plus, they’ve had significant health and safety training and pre-show testing.

  • Our food & beverage team is required to wear masks and gloves.

  • ALL staff members are COVID tested weekly.

  • Performers & their crew must all provide negative COVID tests upon arrival.

Face coverings

FACE COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES—when you arrive, moving/standing/sitting throughout the building, at your seats, in restrooms and when you leave.

  • You can briefly take off your face covering when actively eating or drinking.

Face coverings must:

  • Be made with 2+ layers of breathable material.

  • Fully cover nose and mouth, and secure under chin.

  • Fit snugly against sides of face.

  • Be secured with ear loops or bands behind head and must stay in place without frequent readjusting.

Prohibited face coverings:

  • Bandana-style masks (do not fit securely around mouth or under chin).

  • Neck gaiters (do not fit securely around mouth or under chin).

  • Masks with exhalation valves/vents (do not prevent water droplets from being expelled).

Social Distancing

  • Practice social distancing of 6+ feet throughout the building.

  • Follow signage and any floor markers and instructions from members of the Safety Team

  • Our theater has a reduced capacity of about 30%—with  space between groups.

  • We removed lobby furniture to facilitate entry.

After Shows

  • Stay in your seat and wait for dismissal instructions from the stage and/or ushers.

  • Follow the designated route for social distancing—even as you leave the building and go to your vehicle.

  • Please be patient—exiting safely will take a little longer than usual.

  • Our team will help enforce social distancing and other protocols.

  • A security officer will be on site to ensure all guidelines are followed.

  • Before you enter the building, we’ll need to do a contactless temperature check—and your temperature must be under 100.4°.

Minimizing Contact

  • We encourage cashless transactions using a credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express) or Cash without change.

  • Touchless hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the building.
